Since the end of 2022, the imagery of roughs has been developed.

Roughs are works that are made on torn-out canvas. Everything about their basic structure is rough: the untrimmed edges, the material-heavy primer on the canvas, the treatment of the surface, through scratching, up- and down-grading of the layers of paint through various techniques.

 

In some series of the roughs, a rather filigree and organic-looking motif contrasts with the rough ground.

Canvas threads that become independent at the edges of the picture reinforce the fleeting impression.

 

The roughs are deliberately not fixed on stretcher frames. They are mounted on bookbinding board and placed on a wooden box, so they seem to float on the wall: poetic messages that seem to have fallen out of time.
